The Capri Macaw is extremely friendly, gentle, and easy to train—often regarded as “very stable” compared to some other hybrids. Like other macaws, they are intelligent, love social interaction, can learn to speak a few words, and display a wide range of expressive behaviors.

Description

The Capri Macaw is a third-generation hybrid parrot, typically produced by crossbreeding a Camelot Macaw with a Scarlet Macaw. This is a special, rare hybrid line that boasts vibrant colors and an endearing personality.

1. Appearance & Coloration

Typically measures around 75–90 cm (30–36 inches) in length including the tail.
Their plumage is multi-colored: primarily bright red, accented with yellow and blue, and sometimes a hint of green—making them lively and uniquely striking.
They have large beaks and facial skin that is usually white or light gray, sometimes with dark spots or markings around the chin.

Just like their macaw relatives, Capri Macaws are highly intelligent, enjoy social interactions, can learn a few words, and have a rich range of expressive gestures.

2. Lifespan & Health

They generally live 40–60 years in captivity when properly cared for.
Regular check-ups are essential to monitor their respiratory system, beak, and feet condition, helping to detect health issues early—even though they rarely suffer from serious diseases if raised under suitable conditions.
