Blue Throated has color similar to Blue and Gold, with a blue color along its upper parts and a golden color underneath. However, it is distinguished by a large blue band across the throat that extends up to its ear coverts. Blue throated is also known as the Canide Macaw and the Wagler’s Macaw. As wild birds, they are too shy but as hand-fed birds they are very outgoing and talkative.
Blue- throated doesn’t demand handled like Blue and Gold, it is very friendly. These parrot are not inclined to bite human or noisy like others Macaw parrots. The Blue Throated Macaw can entertain itself especially if you give them plenty of chewing toys.
Blue- throated is smaller than Blue and Gold Macaw, long 85 cm. Baby parrots have color similar to adult parrots, but babies has brown-black eyes and tail is shorter than adult parrot.
Nutrition and care ( all of Macaw parrots have quite similar nutrition): in the wild, they eat variety of seed, nuts, fruits, vegetables. When breed at home, you can find food available use for Macaw parrots. They also can eat nutrient food which is human can use. However, you have to pay attention to some food not good or toxic for birds. Almost parrot enjoy eat with their family. Bird also eat protein food in wild and do like chicken.
